In an era where innovation and authenticity are key elements of business success, two young entrepreneurs, Alexandros Koutouvelas and Vasilis Varsamis, followed a common path of creation, founding the company “1767 Beverages”. We found ourselves backstage at the photoshoot of the most premium carbonated drinks, by the talented and expert food photographer Theodosis Georgiadis, and got a “taste” of the most refreshing flavors of summer! The inspiration behind the name comes from the year 1767, when Joseph Priestley discovered carbonated water, laying the foundations for a new category of enjoyable drinks. The idea was born in a particularly original way: Alexandros Koutouvelas started creating mixers inside beer barrels, which were initially used in the catering store where he worked. These products were then bottled in glass, sealed bottles, marking the transition from an experimental process to a complete business proposition. The first official launch took place in June 2022, after a period of intensive training for the founder during the pandemic restrictions. Together with his business partner Vasilis Varsamis, they proceeded to create their own series of mixers, initially presenting two carbonated drinks with watermelon and strawberry flavors. In a short time, “1767 Beverages” products gained a place in selected catering establishments and leading hotel units in areas such as Thessaloniki, Halkidiki, Veria, Edessa, Santorini and Attica, confirming their potential in the Greek market. At the same time, the brand is already taking its first dynamic steps abroad, paving the way for international growth with a presence in markets such as the USA, the Netherlands and Cyprus.
The philosophy of “1767 Beverages” is summarized in the signature message “Bubble History. Refined”, which captures the transition from the history of carbonated drinks to a modern consumption experience. The brand does not come simply to propose another soft drink, but to redefine freshness, taste and everyday enjoyment through a more modern, free and refined approach. In this context, all products are sugar free, responding to the modern need for balance without compromising on taste and character. The series includes several options starring: Pink Grapefruit (lively and refreshing), Watermelon (light and summery), Strawberry (sweet and aromatic), Tonic Water (sophisticated choice for cocktails) & Premium Soda (clean and versatile). An important milestone for the company’s course is the collaboration with the Mantis Group, which contributes decisively to the commercial strategy and further development of the brand. With a strong presence in the Greek market and deep knowledge of the HoReCa, retail and small channel channels, the group dynamically supports the development and commercial expansion of “1767 Beverages”, creating the right conditions for sustainable growth and strong positioning. “1767 Beverages” is evolving into something more than a beverage brand. It is a modern lifestyle statement, where enjoyment acquires a new meaning — lighter, more creative and more refined than ever.
