The historic Wine Festival at the Tirnavos Vineyard, on the initiative of the Municipality of Tirnavos, was held with complete success, for one more year. A crowd of people gathered during the four-day celebration in the emblematic area of St. Square. Georgiou, enjoying the rich program of events, which included, among other things, an exhibition of winemakers, talks about wine, children’s activities, dance and music events and concerts with great artists such as Christos Dantes, Konstantinos Christoforou and Melina Kana. The beginning of the celebrations was marked with his speech by the Mayor of Tirnavos, Mr. Stelios Tsikritsis, stating: “In yet another difficult year, our Municipality organizes the Vineyard Wine Festival supporting and encouraging viticulture, which is one of the main pillars of the Municipality’s economy Tirnavou. At the same time, we support amateur creation and people of art and culture. Culture is a social good, therefore the central authority must ensure the necessary permanent resources and the necessary human resources. For the Municipal Authority of Tirnavos, culture is not a luxury, while the goal of the events is for popular families to have the opportunity to come into contact with all the cultural events that will take place at the Wine Festival, which is why the entrance is free.” Afterwards, the Mayor thanked all those present for the impressive response to his call, but also among many other famous people such as Vicky Hatzivasileiou, Natalia Dragoumi, Sofia Vogiatzaki, etc., who traveled from all over Greece, to attend the Celebration as the sky lit up with endless fireworks.
The celebrations were completed by guided tours of journalists and friends by the Mayor Mr. Stelios Tsikritsis and the Deputy Mayor for Culture Ms. Eugenia Mamanou-Hatzis to the Museum of the Vine – Wine – House of Man in Tirnavos and the Agricultural Winery Cooperative of Tirnavos, with the latter declaring: “The Wine Festival in the Tirnavos Vineyard is one of the most famous traditional events of our region. We honor our agricultural tradition and strengthen our local economy by highlighting the value of collective effort. The free entry of this celebration is a message that folk tradition belongs to all of us, and access to cultural heritage and community events should not be the privilege of a few, but the right of all.” In the Wine Festival of Ampelona, the stands of wineries in the area of Tirnavos: Winery Cooperative of Tirnavos, Papras Estate, Iatsa Winery, the painters of the area of Ampelona: Zoi Karamaliga, Tsaltas Dimitris, the Stand of the Children’s Centers of the Municipality of Tirnavos and the Stands of cultural and sports clubs participated – of Ampelona clubs: Ampelona Gymnasium, A.O. TAE KWON DO VINEYARD “EY ZIN”, A.O. Ambeloniakos, A.O. “Niki” Vineyard, P.A.S.
