The red door at number 6 of Tsakalov’s busy pedestrian street in Kolonaki, the “Red Door” restaurant, which last year monopolized the interest of the Athenian audience with its gastronomic proposals, is being re-introduced this year in its audience with new, getaways in the heart of Athens.
In the special atmosphere of the restaurant interior wood dominates the cave-grill tables to pull the look, while the heavy barbell with concealed lighting list of cocktail sign one of the major representatives of award-winning Greek bartending, o Teo Spyropoulos. The owner Christos Sourligas and the well-known restaurant manager Vasilis Kostis offer nights based on Japanese culture through special techniques and dishes inspired by the tradition of Japan in fusion versions. “Yakiniku” – a practice synonymous with the grill and somehow related to the Korean BBQ – first introduced to the Athenian audience by Red Door, is also the mainstay of this year’s menu, but gastronomic suggestions are also enriched with sushi choices.
