Exclusive launch party in Island Club Restaurant in honor of the designer

Athens, June 20, 2019. Famous for the phenomenon shows in Milan and New York for his celebrity front row and with more than 120 monobrand boutiques worldwide, German designer Philipp Plein, accompanied by his partner Lucia Bartoli, landed with his private jet on Wednesday 19 June in Athens, to welcome the elite of Athenian life, representatives of the domestic showbiz and brand enthusiasts at the official opening of the luxurious Philipp Plein boutique. The first street couture maître’s flagship store, in collaboration with Kalogirou SA, a subsidiary of the Fais Group, opened its doors in the heart of Athens’ luxury shopping, on Stadiou 4 in the emblematic City Link, this was celebrated with an exclusive launch party at Island Club Restaurant, the trademark of the Athenian Riviera.

A select group of Greek superstars, Eleni Foureira, Fay Skorda, Evangelia Aravani and Ioanna Bella, framed by well-known male athletes and models, set up #PhilippPleinSquad especially for the opening night and attended by the popular designer, dressed exclusively with Philipp Plein creations from the King of Fashion Summer Collection, which marks the 20th anniversary of the brand. The strong beats under the care of the well-known DJ Michael Prado, the official sound designer of the foreign house that arrived in Athens especially for the occasion, as well as the private label Philipp Plein Champagne, which was plentiful in the boutique, gave the slogan for a great celebration Fashion which culminated immediately afterwards at the Island Club Restaurant. In the big party given to Philipp Plein, which lasted until the early hours of the morning, the creator, acting as host, and Michael Prado in the deck, proved once again why his after-show party is becoming talk of the town in Fashion Weeks.

In a prominent position at the entrance of the boutique, the bejeweled skull, the symbol of Philipp Plein, welcomed the guests inside, in a place where modern minimal design meets the disco aesthetics and the baroque ‘n’ roll style of the creator. The black color and dark shades dominate the interiors, the shiny surfaces “contradict” creatively with the matte finishes, while the mirror lining – in showcases and walls – creates a unique effect of reflections, an endless play of light with the shadow, is enhanced by lighting design. Murano Crystal Chandeliers testify to the Baroque influences of the artist and are a distinctive addition to the flamboyant aesthetics of the German designer in the space, who began his career as an interior designer and became widely known in fashion with bejeweled skull T-shirts as well as for the street couture style of his collections.
