Make A Wish Media Dinner: Pivotal point in children’s lives, wish fulfillment and long-term results.

We, like the whole world, are anxiously watching the developments of the days. We are deeply saddened especially, and above all, for the feelings of insecurity and loneliness experienced by the children affected by the situation. As a non-profit entity that implements its work in a legal and transparent way, but also as an organization that is a member of an international family with strict operating rules, we recognize the necessity of a regulatory regulatory framework of operation and with our experience we will support every effort towards it the direction.

At the same time, we cannot stop providing our support to children who need it and suffer from very serious illnesses. We are an organization that maintains no accommodation structure, no real estate, no contact with children without the presence of parents. Instead, we embrace the whole family, we are audited by chartered accountants for our financials every year and by the global body every quarter, we publish our financial reports and we keep our office expenses low (9%). And not only do we not receive any government grant but we pay taxes every year that are proportional to our legal Non-Profit form.

So, really proud of all the above and operating with complete transparency at all levels, we have some great news to share: the trust we received during this “tough” period from our children and their parents, volunteers, doctors, our donors and employees, both as a global organization and in Greece. This belief in our work is reflected both by research recently published by the global organization, and by the social impact report that the EnableGood company “ran” on our behalf for the period 2020 – 2021. Presenting some key conclusions that follow but also studying the two surveys, it is obvious that the fulfillment of the wish of these children is necessary and not some kind of luxury. Their mental health is essential for their cooperation and their struggle.

* • 9 out of 10 children worldwide reported a reduction in their psychological stress after the wish and an improvement in mental health and correspondingly in the Greek report, 97% of the children
* • 9 out of 10 children worldwide reported that they felt joy, confidence and hope for the future and correspondingly in the Greek report, a 94% increase in the feeling of happiness and emotional stability
* • 7 out of 10 children worldwide reported that they were more cooperative in treatment after completion and correspondingly in the Greek report, 75% of children
* • 7 out of 10 children worldwide, but in Greece, believe that there has been an improvement in physical well-being, while based on the global survey, 75% of health scientists said that medical outcomes have improved

All of the above was discussed at a celebratory dinner, in a closed press circle, organized by the organization with the valuable support of Haris Sianidis and Beautiful People Pr Events. Valuable supporters of the action to spread the vision and work of the organization were Theodora Prodromos and Diamantis Prodromos, with the contribution of their companies DK Style and Shell Diamantis Prodromos through the donation of €1,000, and Pasaji Restaurant which offered the great space and dinner to the guests.

A few words about Make-A-Wish (Make-A-Wish Greece)
Make-A-Wish (Make-A-Wish Greece) fulfills wishes of children aged 3-18 who suffer from serious illnesses. A wish is not just a wish. It is much more. It is the motivation to keep fighting for every child who is sick. A wish is an integral part of the healing journey, which is why the organization is committed to granting the wish of every child who meets the criteria. Research shows that children who are granted a wish can regain the physical and emotional strength they need to face a very serious illness. Make-A-Wish (Make-A-Wish Greece) has been operating since 1996 in our country and is a member of the Make-A-Wish Global Organization. Since it was founded in 1996, it has granted 3,100 children’s wishes, while it continues to accept requests and grant wishes on a daily and uninterrupted basis.

Yours sincerely,
