The annual carnival event, took place, with great success, at the special destination “Cap St. Georges Hotel & Resort”, at Akrotiri of Agios Georgios Pegeia in Paphos. The parade, in which a total of 22 carnival groups participated, was attended by more than three thousand people. The central figure of the carnival embodied Queen Cleopatra, through a thematic approach that historically links the cape of Agios Georgios and Geronissos, with the birth of the son of Cleopatra and Julius Caesar.
But beyond the historical references, the carnival celebration sends messages of integration and respect for diversity, which are shared by people from all over the world who live in Cyprus and wish to be part of a tradition that has its roots in antiquity.
Through the actions of the carnival events, at the Cape of Agios Georgios Pegeia, the participants have the opportunity to come into contact with the culture, customs and traditions of a place that is a crossroads of cultures. And finally, celebrating together, to live a common experience. Creating unique moments that last forever.
