In an atmosphere of great interest and in the presence of representatives from the country’s social, artistic, and journalistic circles, the open event and public dialogue on Athens organized by Christos Tentomas took place in the packed Kolokotroni Square, in front of the historic Old Parliament building.
The event was held in a particularly warm and engaging atmosphere, with a large crowd attending to hear his positions and thoughts on the present and future of the city.
Among those present were prominent figures from the city’s public life, as well as distinguished guests and friends of Christos Tentomas, including renowned journalist and TV presenter Zina Koutselini, Greek football legend Krzysztof Warzycha, the unique Anna Fonsou, beloved artist Giannis Zouganelis, actress Natalia Dragoumi, designer and entrepreneur Lakis Gavalas, and Olympic champion Ioannis Melissanidis, all of whom followed his speech with great interest.
During the event, Christos Tentomas announced his departure from the political faction with which he was elected, as well as his resignation from the position of Vice President of the Athens Municipal Council, emphasizing that his decision marks the beginning of a new course focused on the citizens and the needs of the city.
“This decision does not distance me from the struggle. It does not distance me from you. On the contrary, it sets me free,” he stated, stressing that he will continue to stand by the residents of Athens every day as an independent municipal councilor.
“As a person who has served this city tirelessly for thirty-two consecutive years, I have learned to look citizens in the eye and tell the truth,” he noted.
In his address, he spoke about the issues affecting the daily lives of Athenians, underlining the need for a new vision that will once again prioritize neighborhoods, quality of life, and the functionality of the city.
The event concluded with discussions, an exchange of views, and a message that left open many expectations for the period ahead. In closing his speech, he warmly thanked the citizens, friends, and associates who stood by his side, leaving open the possibility of new initiatives in the near future.
“We will meet again in person in the autumn. And then, we will have much more to say,” was the message with which he concluded his intervention.
