The annual Charity Gala of the social organization “We Are One” was held with great success for the second consecutive year at the National Museum of Natural History “Goulandris”, which has now become an institution, with the aim, this time, of supporting the Children’s Hospital “Agia Sophia” and in particular the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The evening, under the supervision and initiative of the President of the social organization “We Are One”, Dr. Sofia F. Katsigianni, who stands out for her continuous social and charitable action, was an important event of social contribution and solidarity. The hall was packed, with a strong presence of political and institutional figures, as well as a multitude of well-known figures from the business, journalistic and artistic scene of the country, who gave their dynamic “presence” in support of a particularly important cause. The event was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family and was held with the support and assistance of the Ministry of Health, confirming the importance of the collective effort to strengthen the public health system and especially the pediatric care structures.
At the heart of the initiative was the need to support the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of the “Agia Sophia” Children’s Hospital, a vital unit that offers specialized and immediate medical care to children and adolescents with serious illnesses on a daily basis. In an atmosphere of high emotion and solidarity, the guests sent a strong message of service and humanity, highlighting the importance of the collective effort to strengthen public pediatric care in our country.
The President of the social organization “We Are One”, Dr. Sofia F. Katsigianni, warmly thanked all those who supported the initiative, emphasizing that the organization continues to steadily promote the message of unity, solidarity and social responsibility through meaningful actions with a social footprint.
The event was also attended by the Minister of Health, Mr. Adonis Georgiadis, who in his greeting thanked the association “We Are One” for organizing the event and underlined the importance of supporting children and strengthening health structures, referring in particular to the crucial role of Intensive Care Units in the battle for life.
The Minister of Social Cohesion and Family, Ms. Domna Michaelidou, in her message, congratulated the association “We Are One” for the initiative of this action, which takes on even greater importance when it concerns children. At the same time, he stressed that behind every child who is hospitalized, there is a family in distress. For this reason, support for the “Agia Sophia” Children’s General Hospital is of particular value, as it is a place that has been by the side of thousands of children and their families for decades in the most difficult moments of their lives.
The event was presented by journalist Ms. Magda Tsegkou, while greetings were delivered, among others, by the Deputy Minister of Health Mr. Marios Themistocleous, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Haris Theocharis, the President of the Hellenic Red Cross, Mr. Antonis Avgerinos and the Governor of the “Agia Sophia” Children’s Hospital Mr. Anastasios Michas.
The event was also attended by MEP Nikos Papandreou, MPs Pavlos Geroulanos, Manolis Christodoulakis and Giorgos Karameros, as well as former MPs Costas Zachariadis and Noni Dounia, expressing their deep appreciation and warm congratulations to the President of the organization, Sofia F. Katsigianni, as well as to the friends, associates, members and sponsors who contributed to the success of this important initiative.
The evening ended in a particularly warm atmosphere, with those present expressing their support for the work of the “Agia Sophia” Children’s Hospital and the social organization “We Are One”, actively contributing to an important initiative of love and hope. The musical part of the event was performed by the well-known performer Shaya.
