What do you think are the most important problems facing young people today?

The problems facing young people today are not only economic — they are deeper and more complex. Of course, punctuality, job insecurity and difficulty in accessing housing are serious issues. But there is something else: a generalised uncertainty about the future.
In the Eurogroup of European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR Group), we believe that young people need perspective and a foundation of values. Supporting the family, strengthening education and cultivating responsibility are key elements for the new generation to gain self-confidence and direction.

What needs to change so that young people can feel optimistic again?

Young people need stability and fair opportunities. This means less tax pressure, strengthening entrepreneurship and real support for acquiring housing.
Within the ECR Group, we emphasize the creation of an environment that encourages production and innovation, without undermining social values. For us, the family is a prerequisite for social stability and we want young people to be able to imagine themselves creating and supporting a family in their own country.

What do you consider to be the main priorities for the new year at the European level?

Europe is in a period of transition and readjustment. In recent years, we have experienced health, energy and geopolitical crises that have profoundly affected our societies and economies. For the new year, the main priorities should be to strengthen the competitiveness of the European economy, stabilize energy costs and improve the lives of citizens.
At the same time, it is crucial to emphasize supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, which are the backbone of the European economy, as well as creating a more friendly environment for investment and innovation.
The European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) Group supports an approach that combines economic realism with respect for the national sovereignty of the member states. We believe that European policies should strengthen states and not limit them, allowing each country to exploit its own comparative advantages.

What message would you like to send to young people for the new year?

Every new year is an opportunity to start over. I would tell young people not to stop setting goals and not to let difficulties discourage them.
Through my work in the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) Group, I see every day how important it is for young people to have a voice and to participate. The future should not be decided without them.
