Mr. Christos Tentomas, once again a pioneer in social responsibility issues, organized on the occasion of World Childhood and Adolescent Cancer Day, a moving charity event at the headquarters of Make-A-Wish Greece, being a helper on this special day and supporting once again the valuable work of the organization. Mr. Christos Tentomas’ initiative was supported by representatives of the artistic and journalistic world, giving a resounding “presence” and reinforcing the message of hope and strength to all children and their families, who are fighting their own special battle in the country’s pediatric oncology hospitals and beyond. A social contribution initiative, with a real, measurable and deeply human footprint. An action that was born from the need of Mr. Christos Tentomas to bring joy to the little everyday heroes, proving in practice that engagement with the common good can and should be accompanied by a substantial contribution to one’s fellow man. This important charitable event began with a short greeting from the Volunteer Manager of Make-A-Wish Greece, Ms. Katerina Zagoraki, and the Fundraising Manager of the organization, Ms. Denise Kiamiloglou, who, after a brief presentation of the great work of Make-A-Wish Greece, warmly thanked Mr. Christos Tentomas for his initiative and support and awarded him a commemorative plaque for his contribution.
World Childhood and Adolescent Cancer Day is a day dedicated to raising awareness of childhood cancer and the challenges faced by children and their families around the world. This day aims to inform, strengthen research and mobilize to provide even better care. Make-A-Wish Greece, which this year celebrates 30 years since its establishment, gives additional strength and armor to every child who is ill. Mental empowerment, anticipation of something good coming and encouragement during treatment are interrelated. Because every child deserves to dream. Every wish that comes true is one step closer to that dream and every survival story is a reminder that hope, knowledge and care can change lives. Mr. Christos Tentomas, as Vice President of the Municipal Council of the Municipality of Athens, leads voluntary initiatives for people with disabilities, the elderly, the economically weaker, environmental actions, having as a vision to contribute the most to the improvement of the quality of life of our fellow human beings and to the formation of a modern and humane urban environment.
