The presentation of Evangelos Poulios’ new book entitled “TIK TAK IS COMING!”, published by “Pedio” publications, was held at the Athens Conservatory with a particularly large turnout. The hall was packed, with a strong presence of political and institutional figures and a multitude of well-known figures from the country’s business, journalistic and artistic scene. The massive participation and the high level of interventions confirmed that the issue of active civic participation remains at the center of public interest. The presentation was coordinated by journalist Maria Nikoltsiou, while the panel was completed by businessman Kostas Toumbouros and lawyer Thomas Lamnides as speakers. A special moment of the evening was the appearance of the first Greek humanoid robot “Phoebus” by “AVRION Robotics”, which gave a modern tone to the event and received warm applause from the audience. Robots no longer belong to the realm of science fiction. Today, they can be found in a warehouse that operates continuously, in a hotel where they guide visitors, in a schoolroom next to the teacher or even in rescue operations, where human presence is difficult or dangerous. As Pavlos Tsiapos, Founder and CEO of AVRION Robotics, pointed out, “our goal is to take robots out of the laboratories and integrate them into everyday life, where they can really help people and businesses.”
A multitude of friends and important personalities were present and personally congratulated Evangelos Poulios on his new venture. In an era where “information” is everywhere, but understanding is rare, Evangelos Poulios’ new book comes to pose a simple but crucial question: Do we live consciously or do we simply not react? The book “TIK TAK IS COMING!” does not add another theory. It is a reminder. In a world that is moving ever faster, apathy often seems normal. The book questions exactly this, functioning as a preparation for a reality that is already taking shape and for the role of the active person within it. Through observations on contemporary reality — from the role of the media and the shaping of perception, to the distancing of the individual from active participation — the author attempts to bring attention back to where it truly belongs: to conscious thought, preparing us for what is to come. During the presentation, Evangelos Poulios specifically emphasized: “The main reason that prompted me to proceed with writing this book was to emphasize that some events that occurred much later than those I had already recorded in the past could have been perceived and their adverse consequences could have been predicted or at least mitigated. What is coming exceeds what we can imagine today. The time for inaction is running out.”
Evangelos Poulios is a graduate of the Law School of Nicolae Titulescu University (Craiova, Romania), holder of a doctorate from the same university and also author of the books “Fundamentele civile ale contractelor comerciale de intermediere in dreptul roman si I dreptul elen”, “Sta Monopatia tis skepsis” as well as “Ki mows to pistevw..”. He participated as a legal expert in several EU projects in Eastern Europe and Asia – energy and cross-border (PHARE, INOGATE, TRACECA, etc.). He lives and does business in Greece and abroad.
