The classic “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens acquires a Greek cinematic identity and stands out in the technical and artistic categories of the Hellenic Film Academy. The film “A Christmas Carol” continues its dynamic course, receiving 6 nominations at the 2026 Iris Awards of the Hellenic Film Academy. This recognition comes to confirm both the great appeal of the film to the audience and the high quality of the production in terms of image, sound, set design, costumes, makeup and visual effects. At the same time, it is a significant reward for the collective work of a creative team that managed to transfer to the big screen a production of high artistic and technical standards, which has nothing to envy from major foreign productions. Behind this distinction and creation are executive producer Tasos Papanastasiou with Main Character Entertainment and Marinos Charalambous with Avaton Films. Correspondingly, Christos Kanakis signs the direction, while Loris Loizides signs the script and stars.

Through their collaboration, the classic “Christmas Story” by Charles Dickens acquired a modern, deeply Greek and emotionally direct cinematic identity. Christos Kanakis’ directorial eye gave the film an intense atmosphere, cinematic rhythm and emotional depth, while Loris Loizides’ pen balanced drama, humor and emotion, creating human and recognizable characters. The 6 nominations at the “Iris” Awards are a significant vindication for the team of creators and contributors who worked behind this production.
