In a festive atmosphere, the event was held to celebrate the 20 years of the non-profit company “AFIS Battery Recycling”. The “Flying Disco Party”, as it was named after the excuses that people make for not recycling their batteries, took place at the famous disco “Cinderella” in the heart of Kolonaki and was attended by personalities from the artistic and journalistic world of Athens, with special disco outfits, who support the efforts for a greener planet and a better tomorrow. The guests exchanged opinions of battery recycling, its action over the years, while they suffocated the special “AFIS” columns, which were in the area with batteries for recycling.
With the slogan “If it’s not this story, you have no excuse” and an imaginative online poll page https://afis-discopoll.gr/ the non-profit company “AFIS” started its campaign to remind that in Greece there are over than 70,000 battery recycling points and therefore no excuse not to recycle. Its income comes exclusively from the contributions of its members, and it has never received any state aid or grant or subsidy from EU programs. The vision of “AFIS” is to be a model of reliability and transparency as a Waste Management System with positive impact on the environment and a real contribution to the circular economy, and to be perceived by the society. Recycling our batteries is an easy and simple move but very important. Find your nearest “AFIS” bin at www.afis.gr
